To convert inches to meters, we can multiply the number inches by 2.54 times 10 to the negative power 2. use the fact to convert 1 yard to meters.

inches 1 yard=3 feet=36 inches

so 1 yard=36 inches

inches times 2.54 times 10^-2
36 times 2.54 times 10^-2=9.1 times 10^1 meter
